Staff

All permanent educators are Early Childhood Education (ECE) trained and have current first aid and CPR certificates which are updated regularly. Our staff have varied backgrounds in psychology and education.

Sunflower House also acts as a teaching facility: in addition to experienced ECEs, each classroom may be staffed by high-school students registered in the Ontario Ministry of Education Cooperative Education program and Early Childhood Education and Assistant trainees. All staff (paid and volunteer) are approved with a police reference check.

Sunflower House is a non-profit childcare centre run by a board of directors made up of parents and representatives from the University Health Network.

The board meets regularly and all parents are welcome to attend monthly open meetings and submit items for discussion.
